Author Guidelines

HOSPITERA — Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles, case studies, and conceptual papers in the fields of hospitality, tourism, gastronomy, and culinary tourism. The following guidelines outline the requirements for manuscript submission.

1. Submission Requirements

Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s online submission system. Authors are required to provide complete submission information, including the manuscript title, abstract, keywords, and full author details.

Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian and must be original works that have not been published or are not under review by other journals.

2. Manuscript Format

Length
Manuscripts should be between 4,000 and 8,000 words, including the abstract, references, tables, and figures.

Font and Layout
Manuscripts must be prepared using Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing. All margins should be set to 2.5 cm on all sides.

Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be organized in the following order:

• Title: A concise and informative title.

• Abstract: A brief summary of the article (150–250 words).

• Keywords: Up to five keywords.

• Introduction: Background of the study, research problem, objectives, and significance.

• Literature Review: Overview of relevant theoretical and empirical studies.

• Methodology: Description of the research design, data collection methods, and analytical techniques.

• Results: Presentation of research findings.

• Discussion: Interpretation of results, comparison with previous studies, and implications.

• Conclusion: Summary of key findings and recommendations for future research or practice.

• References: List of cited sources formatted according to APA 7th Edition.

3. Figures and Tables

All figures and tables must be numbered consecutively and cited in the text.

Tables should be created using the table function in Microsoft Word and should be clear, concise, and self-explanatory.

Figures must be submitted in high-resolution format (JPEG, PNG, or TIFF) and placed after the relevant text in the manuscript. All figures must be clearly labeled and legible.

4. References

In-text citations and reference lists must follow the APA 7th Edition style (Author, Year).

Only sources cited in the manuscript should be included in the reference list. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all references.

5. Ethical Considerations

Authors must comply with ethical standards in conducting and reporting research. Studies involving human participants or animals must have obtained appropriate ethical approval, and informed consent must be secured where applicable.

Any potential conflicts of interest related to the research or publication must be disclosed.

6. Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts will undergo plagiarism screening using appropriate plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism will be rejected.

7. Peer Review Process

HOSPITERA employs a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.

Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts based on reviewers’ comments. The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection is made by the editorial board.

8. Revisions and Resubmissions

Revised manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s submission system and accompanied by a detailed response to reviewers’ comments. Manuscripts under revision should not be submitted to other journals until a final editorial decision has been issued.

9. Publication Fees

HOSPITERA does not charge a submission fee. Any publication-related costs, if applicable, will be communicated clearly to authors prior to publication in accordance with the journal’s policies.

10. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their work. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant HOSPITERA the right to publish and distribute the article.

All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits sharing and adaptation with proper attribution.
