Publication Ethics
HOSPITERA — Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Research is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics. These ethical guidelines follow best practices recommended by reputable academic organizations and indexing institutions, including Scopus.
1. Originality and Plagiarism
Authors must ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original and have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources are mandatory. Any form of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, is strictly prohibited and will result in manuscript rejection.
2. Authorship
All individuals listed as authors must have made significant contributions to the research, including conceptualization, data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation. The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and have agreed to its submission and publication. Any potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
3. Peer Review Process
HOSPITERA employs a double-blind peer review process. Manuscripts are evaluated by independent expert reviewers based on originality, methodological rigor, academic quality, and relevance to the field. Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback and must declare any conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment.
4. Editorial Responsibilities
Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, unbiased, and timely peer review process. Editorial decisions are based solely on the academic merit, originality, relevance, and significance of the manuscript. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts and must not use unpublished material for personal advantage.
5. Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, or professional conflicts of interest that could influence the research process, peer review, or editorial decisions. Transparency in declaring conflicts of interest is essential to maintaining trust in the publication process.
6. Data and Research Integrity
Authors are required to present research data accurately and honestly. Data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation is strictly prohibited. Authors should be prepared to provide raw data or supporting materials for verification if requested by the journal.
7. Duplicate Submission and Multiple Publication
HOSPITERA does not accept manuscripts that are under consideration or have been published elsewhere. Simultaneous submission to multiple journals or duplicate publication of the same research is considered unethical and will result in rejection.
8. Corrections and Retractions
If significant errors or inaccuracies are identified after publication, authors are obligated to cooperate in issuing corrections, clarifications, or retractions. Articles found to involve unethical research practices or fraudulent data will be retracted, and the authors may be restricted from future submissions.
9. Ethical Compliance
All parties involved in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—must comply with ethical research standards, including respect for human and animal rights, confidentiality, and avoidance of harm. Research involving human participants or animals must have obtained appropriate ethical approval from relevant ethics committees.
HOSPITERA aims to foster a transparent, fair, and rigorous scholarly environment by adhering to these ethical principles. Authors, reviewers, and editors are strongly encouraged to comply with these guidelines to maintain the integrity and quality of the journal.
